Trailblazing Margaret is a bright, expressive guest room designed for longer stays and guests who enjoy a space with personality and light. It feels easy to live in and comfortable to return to after a full day of work.
Named for a woman remembered for her independence and forward motion, Margaret carries a sense of momentum within the house. Traditional furnishings are mixed with personal art, layered rugs, and warm lamplight, giving the room character without clutter and energy without noise. It feels lived-in rather than styled.
The room includes a comfortable queen-sized bed, quality linens, and room-darkening drapes that support rest at any hour. A writing surface, seating area, and generous storage make it practical for guests who like to unpack, keep projects nearby, and settle into daily routines during a longer stay.
An in-room kitchenette is set up for quick meals after shift and warming up snacks. It includes a hotel-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, air fryer, and toaster or toaster oven, along with basic dishware, flatware, and simple prep tools. Starter supplies such as paper towels, a dish sponge, and basic cleaning supplies are provided.
Guests have access to a traditional guest bathroom, consistent with the original design of historic homes like the Manor. The bathroom is thoughtfully maintained as part of the household’s regular care and kept clean, orderly, and comfortable for daily use.
Lucy’s Montana Manor operates as a quiet, shared, owner-stewarded home, with each guest having a private room and shared spaces designed for respectful daily living.
Trailblazing Margaret is well suited to guests who appreciate character, light, and a room that feels alive during the day and calm at night while they work.
Trailblazin’ Margaret is named after my great grandmother who raised nine children in Montana. Her parents were Swiss and owned a small western hotel in Montana. It still stands today.
